“Without service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It’s important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It’s the way in which we ourselves grow and develop.” – Dorothy Height
Concord Institute is a training organisation, and one of our integral lynchpins is the community and assisting body. It’s the beating heart of the organisation that enables us to deliver our various programmes and events.
We regularly invite people who have gone through our programmes to assist and support the production of other events. It’s an opportunity to stay connected with the energy of the space, and be part of the wider community.
It’s also an opportunity to develop further practical skills in the areas of cooking and bodywork, as well as ongoing training that sustains the breakthroughs created in the programmes. Often, assistants share an experience of “getting more than what they put in”, and inhabiting a larger dimension whilst being in service to others. We want to develop how we make this experience available to the community.
We created the Assisting Programme with the intention of bringing a structure and context that supports the ongoing training available through assisting.
The programme is a 12-week commitment, in which participating assistants will regularly support in-person and online events, as well as the day-to-day running of the centre. Over this period of time, you will be supported by a coach. They will bring to you a committed and wholehearted partnership to create a context and structure for your participation that’s appropriate for you.
You will be invited to put something at stake: an area of your life where you want your participation to make a difference. This could be an area where energy is stuck, or it could be a new dream you would like to bring into reality. Your coach will provide a listening and guidance, so your participation can feed your intention and personal growth.
This 12-week programme will begin and end on different dates for each person. Upon committing to the programme, you will agree to a time frame that works for you. You will also work with your coach to create a bespoke structure, and agree on your commitments for in-person and remote assisting appropriate to your intention and your life.
There is no cost for participating in this programme, and it is open to graduates of the iEvolve programme.
