“Man needs now, more than ever, to be taught new ideas that have to do exclusively with his inner world – shamans’ ideas, not social ideas, ideas pertaining to man facing the unknown, facing his personal death. Now, more than anything else, he needs to be taught the secrets of the assemblage point.”
Carlos Castaneda, The Power of Silence
According to the ancient science, at the moment of our birth, when we first come into this world, we inhale the energy of that moment in the first breath we take. This energy shapes us at a deep level and we become incarnations of that moment in time. From then on, we each embody one of the infinite facets of the universe.
In these times of social imbalance and confusion, it is important to remember who we are and where we came from. It is important to remember that each of us is a piece of this universe, that we are children of the earth and our mission is to let spirit speak through each one of us.
The social order, one could say, was constructed to help all individuals inside a community become who they are and reach their true potential. And yet, it may not have unfolded as intended, or indeed the original intention may be blocked. The social order may no longer be an aid but an obstacle to our own unfolding.
We live in such times. Everywhere we look, we see confusion, fear, control, corruption, greed and anger. Sometimes it seems as if we have no direction to extend into, as if there is nothing we can do. The only path available to us seems to be the path within.
During this two day workshop, we shall call on the tools of an ancient Toltec tradition to clear the path to who we really are. We will identify what we no longer need in order to gather enough energy to dream ourselves forward into the new times which are ahead.
We are in the midst of a crisis in which an old world is dying and a new world wants to emerge. So, we will ask ourselves; what is it that must die in our own lives? What old emotional ties must we mourn? What is it that is asking to be born?
The practice of ancient movements will be our guide into silencing our confused and often contradictory dialogue. From here, we can remember who we really are: this eternal essence; this snapshot of the universe at a moment in time.
This essence shines in the depths of our being. It is unalterable and indestructible. It is always available, ready to show us the way even in the darkest of times. This is the piece of ourselves that gives us the ability to adapt to any situation because it does not hold on to anything, because it has no fear and no expectations.
This workshop will include movements, breathing practices and life review exercises. The weekend is facilitated by Guilhem Morera (aka Jim Morris), founder of the Dragonfly Practices. Guilhem studied for 10 years with the apprentices of Carlos Castaneda in Los Angeles, is now based in France and travels extensively across Europe to facilitate workshops.
