A Workshop with Guilhem Morera: Toltec Movements and Astrology

“The power that governs the destiny of all living beings is called the Eagle, not because it is an eagle or has anything to do with an eagle, but because it appears to the Seer as an immeasurable jet-black Eagle, standing erect as an eagle stands, its height reaching to Infinity….

…The Eagle, although it is not moved by the circumstances of any living thing, has granted a gift to each of those beings. In its own way and right, any one of them, if it so desires, has the power to keep the flame of awareness [after death], the power to disobey the summons to die and be consumed.

Every living thing has been granted the power, if it so desires, to seek an opening to freedom and to go through it. It is evident to the Seer who sees the opening, and to the creatures that go through it, that the Eagle has granted that gift in order to perpetuate awareness.”

Carlos Castaneda: The Eagle’s Gift

During this weekend workshop with Guilhem Morera, we will find ourselves under the astrological influence of Scorpio, which falls from 23 October – 22 November, and is ruled by the planet Pluto.

In this quote from “The Eagle’s Gift” by Carlos Castaneda we find several themes that relate to that which Pluto represents in mythology. Interestingly, one of the symbols for the sign of Scopio is the Eagle.

Pluto, also known as Hades, was the ruler of the Greek underworld. He represents death, resurrection and explosive, disintegrating power; that which can either annihilate us or transform us.

Pluto is the guardian of the threshold; the last celestial object in our solar system… after Pluto starts Infinity!

Because we all live in this solar system, there is a part of all of us which is connected to the energy of this planet. We all have Pluto somewhere in our astrological charts. This is the part of ourselves that has to do with our personal power, obsessions and transformation.

During this workshop, which also coincides with The Day of the Dead, an important Mexican festival, we will practise movements from the Toltec tradition that relate to the energy that Pluto represents.

As well as movements, we will explore how Pluto appears in our individual astrological charts, and undertake life-review exercises to examine situations in our life where we can see the influence of Pluto, of death and resurrection.

We will specifically look at our obsessions, those things which may have almost annihilated us, and yet which may be the key to our greatest freedom and transformation.

This workshop is open to all; no prior experience is necessary. The weekend is facilitated by Guilhem Morera. Click here to visit our Facilitators Page and scroll down to read more about Guilhem.
